2019 Palmer Wedding
Here’s something different! I was a guest at a cousin’s wedding. I was not the Wedding Photographer. I’m just a happy relative at a table shooting a couple pictures. When I take my camera to a wedding, I stay out of the way of the pros. I’m there to enjoy the wedding and shoot a few candids. Those guys have the plan and the experience, I respect them and that’s that. I think the photographers were done and gone by the time the dancing started and I brought my 85mm 1.8 just for that! I don’t really care for dancing photos using a flash - I like the natural light and feeling of movement, but even with that lens the dance floor was too dark. This was outside and I needed the disco lights to hit someone just to even focus. I snapped a pile and crossed my fingers. If I could get just a couple good shots it would be worth it. I had to work on the clarity and levels on each one I thought was worth keeping. You can see below a before and after. I’m most proud of the big shot up top. For years Paulette has avoided having her photo taken, and I love this one. I made a little disco overlay for a few of them and used it again on Jacob below. Dad Kevin looks great below too, and Delayna’s speech was about the funniest I’ve ever heard. It’s a private gallery, but here’s a few favorites. B
