2016 Anaheim Ice Hockey JIMBO
Something different here. Sean, a buddy of mine with a new powerflash, wanted to give it a test run. He came to shoot my hockey team, hoping to get some action. Ice hockey is especially hard to shoot for many reasons. It's dark like a basketball gym, the action is fast (okay, maybe not MY team), and there's thick marked up glass you need to shoot through. It's a tough job for one person because the flash isn't always pointed where your camera is. Once our game finished I got dressed, and I realized another friend was taking the ice. I grabbed the camera and Sean worked the flash from the stands. He kept his eye on me and where I was pointing the camera and he followed with the flash. Using a remote trigger I was able to shoot from a range of about 30 feet, I started in the stands above the glass and eventually ice level, straight through it. The photos were shot in raw so I could deal with exposure easier. A good first crack at ice hockey with flash. Here's the set of 70 featuring Jimbo's Green Team Gallery (CLICK). B
