2024 Servite Graduation JIMMY
Jimmy came in to the studio to make-up his soccer shots and mom asked me if I would shoot his graduation. I’m always apprehensive to do non-sports events because it’s hard to know what I’m up against, how long it will actually be, how many photos is not enough or too many? At something like this my biggest worry is can I get good shots without moving around. I found Jimmy and his friends hanging out down the hall so I got a couple pre-march poses, then when they lined up to come in I could see three or four kids deep. I had the 300mm on and wasn’t close but as they popped into my viewfinder most would peek in, getting their first look at the packed room. Great light so I shot the kids I recognized or anyone laughing or smiling. Jimmy gave me the thumbs up so whatever else happened I got one good one. As it turns out I did really well. I went home, grabbed Archie and the flash pole and joined the party at the Anaheim White House for about 40 minutes. Turned out great too. About 90 photos in all. It’s a private gallery, but here’s a few favorites. B
