2021 The Wakeling Family

This one is more real than most. Because of my daughter’s medical resume we have a small group of friends with kids that have similar prognoses, and Brendan was one. To commemorate the anniversary of his passing, they wanted to have a photo session done. They brought along the large photo board I last saw at Brendan’s memorial. This wasn’t a session where I counted to three and everyone said “cheese”. I’ve thought before about doing a photo series on the families of kids with special needs, highlighting the strong women who give so much to their kids. I know about a dozen of them and they are all amazing. Julianna is definitely one and her ability to put her feelings into words at Brendan’s memorial was quite special. There is some smiles in here but there’s also some emotion in their faces as they continue to move forward. Here’s the gallery (CLICK). B
