2021 G07 ECNL Slammers KYLA

I think the hardest position to shoot is a Volleyball Middle Blocker but a Soccer Middle Defender is up there, especially if I’m trying to get forwards at the same time. Kyla played the position and was solid on the fundamentals. When you’re the last player back you don’t dribble out of trouble, you get there first and punt it. It’s not very photogenic but it’s your job. Another look you’ll see from a middle defender is the recognition sprint, eyes focused on the ball and running back to position, important to see turnovers right away. Often the team’s biggest defender jumps up for possible headers on corners and she was in on that. She also took a corner that ended up in the back of the net when Sophie bumped the goalie and she fumbled it in for a goal. Here is Kyla’s 2021 Slammers Gallery (CLICK). B
