2017 Valencia Frosh Volleyball

Spur of the moment decision to go and shoot this game. A family friend was playing for Valencia and I had a hunch I'd know some El Dorado girls from softball. Over the years I've had bad luck shooting inside gyms and except for rare exceptions, I have avoided them. My camera just can't handle the low light and the post work is tedious just to get a small gallery. Last week I pulled the trigger on a new camera and this would be a perfect chance to test it. The camera did great, the photographer, not as well. :) I didn't want to move around and jinx my floor access with the referee. I admit my volleyball photo instincts are pretty green too. I spent too much time trying to get the ball in the shot instead of just going for intensity. Aside from that, I am happy to report I am looking forward to my next gym session.
